The Redskins future officially begins today.

Washington addressed a slew of big needs in the NFL Draft, surprising some with a few of their selections, but it's all about how they perform on the field. Thanks to quick work by this franchise, we won't have to wait any longer.

The Redskins have signed seven of their draft picks, including potential stud running back Derrius Guice and first-round selection Da'Ron Payne. Payne is the first 2018 first-round pick to sign so far.

Joining them were Troy Apke, Tim Settle, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Greg Stroman, and Trey Quinn.

Fans have to love seeing those top picks locked down right away.

Guice may come in as a controversial selection as some off-field issues scared teams away and allowed him to fall to the Redskins in the second round. Now that he's under contract, he'll be expected to fight with Rob Kelley for the top RB spot.

As for Payne, it's no secret how important the Skins think he can be for this defense. He figures to be in the mix at defensive tackle from day one.

Time to build a new foundation in the nation's capital. It may as well be Infrastructure Week!
