You would have to go as far back as the Mike Vick days to find major success for the Virginia Tech football program. Vick led the charge, and the program had a good run on the recruiting front in the years following his departure.
However, the team had faced a lot of failure from 2012-2015 until Justin Fuente was named the team's new head coach after the legendary Frank Beamer left. The team has had solid back-to-back seasons, and they promoted Galen Scott to assistant coach to reward his contributions to the team.
But there's trouble in paradise.
@virginia_tech@CoachFuente did you know that Coach Galen Scott used hotels paid by @VT_Football to sleep with my wife on 5 occasions in two states? Are these actions sanctioned by @VT_Football @virginia_tech?— I love diggy (@diggy1973) April 27, 2018
Wait a minute, what?
Yeah, Scott only held his new title for a little bit, as he has reportedly resigned. Why, you ask? Because a man has made a Twitter account specifically to expose Scott for purportedly sleeping with his wife.
Yikes. The man says that Scott was up to no good while the Hokies were paying for his hotel room while in recruiting trips.
Just when you think you have seen it all, something like this happens. College football, folks! It's a year-round sport.
