One scout, in particular, wasn't happy with the pick and provided this bold take on St. Brown.
Via McGinn's website, NFL scout on Packers WR St. Brown: "Has some quirks that I think come from the dad. He refused to play special teams. He doesn’t stretch. He might end up butting heads a little bit with the weight coach. Not disrespectful. But you’re getting the dad."— Jesse Fritsch (@CalhounLambeau) April 29, 2018
St. Brown comes from an extremely talented family. His father was a world-renowned bodybuilder and a two-time Mr. Universe winner. His two younger brothers are highly regarded receivers in college football.
That's quite the projection for a wide receiver who hasn't even touched the field as a pro. On talent alone, St. Brown was projected to be a Day 2 lock but garbage takes like these dropped his stock.
With those concerns, St. Brown couldn't be going to a better organization with the Packers. He'll get the opportunity to play with one of the best quarterbacks in Rodgers, a proven veteran that doesn't take crap from any of his teammates.
This could prove to be one of the steals of the draft for the Packers.
If so, one scout will be eating his words.
