Now THIS was a devastating move!
The Philadelphia Eagles didn't simply trade up to leap-frog the hated Dallas Cowboys in a draft hosted in their own house-- but they did it to draft a man named Dallas.
Yes. South Dakota State TE Dallas Goedert is an Eagle.
The #Eagles just traded up over the #Cowboys to take the top pass-catching TE on the board — Dallas Goedert. With the Jason Witten retirement, the thought was the Cowboys were going to take him. Though, I hear they were not.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) April 28, 2018
Goedert is sure to make an impact, as he's a natural offensive threat and has drawn comparisons to current Eagles TE Zach Ertz.
Eagles traded up to No. 49 in second round, one spot in front of the Cowboys. Clearly wanted to jump Dallas, which lost Jason Witten today, for a reason....— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 28, 2018
And what a stone-cold move this was by Howie Roseman and the Eagles front office to steal him out from under the Cowboys, who need a tight end to replace Jason Witten, who we learned was shockingly retiring earlier today.
It's getting chippy in Big D. Game on!
