It's officially happening...
Dez Bryant has been with the Dallas Cowboys since the team drafted him in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Since then, he's reached three Pro Bowls, but never achieved the postseason success that he wanted in Dallas.
Now, it sounds like his time is coming to an end. According to reports, the Cowboys are releasing Dez Bryant today barring some major change in plans.
Cowboys expected to release WR Dev Bryant today, barring an unexpected last-minute change of heart, per @toddarcher and me. But the plan going into meeting that is now underway was to part ways with Bryant.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 13, 2018
This is certainly a bit of a shock.
Many analysts believed that Dez would be a cap casualty of the Cowboys this offseason, as the team can save $8 million upon his release. However, conflicting reports caused confusion in the belief that he would be an impending free agent.
Bryant is in Dallas today meeting with Jerry Jones and Co. Looks like Jerry has made his decision, though.

Now, Dez will be a highly coveted free agent, with the chance to make another hefty payday from another team this season.
