John Dorsey you clever guy you.
With all the hype surrounding Sam Darnold's Pro Day earlier this week, in which he looked like a NFL-ready QB, the Browns emerged as one of the most smitten teams in regards to drafting the USC product.
The Browns front office seemed to love what they saw, and it sounded more and more like Darnold was going No. 1. However, it sounds like some analysts around the league believe the Browns are getting clever here.
This morning on the @dpshow, Dan Patrick cites a scouting source saying the Browns are using their "love" of Sam Darnold as bait, hoping the Giants trade up to No. 1... adding the Browns prefer Josh Allen.https://t.co/PxsV9zjuJP— Josh Norris (@JoshNorris) March 26, 2018
According to a report, some believe the Browns are using their "love" of Sam Darnold to entice a team like the Giants to trade up to the No. 1 spot.
To compliment that report, the same source for Josh Norris believes the Browns actually prefer Josh Allen as their QB of the future, as they were also present at his Pro Day as well.
Someone is going to get a helluva QB at the end of the day, and chances are that both Darnold and Allen will be selected within the first five picks. Now we just have to wait and see who gets who.
