Most of the NFL's top-shelf free agents are off the board, but that doesn't mean there isn't some attractive value out there to be had. If you're in the market for a veteran pass rusher, however, Pernell McPhee appears to be heading off the market. Reports indicate that the Bears free agent linebacker is moving toward signing with Washington.
Atlanta had been pursuing the 29-year-old, but it sounds like they're out of the running. Their loss looks to be the Redskins' gain.
McPhee ended the 2017 season on injured reserve thanks to a shoulder injury, but he made the most of his time on the field. He started just five games but recorded four sacks and two pass deflections.
If he does follow through and sign, he figures to be an important piece of the puzzle for Jay Gruden's defense.
