After first being reported that Georgia was finalizing the details of the contract, it is now official: Tom Crean will be the new head coach for the Bulldogs.... for the next six years.

The announcement, which should definitely give their men's basketball program a well needed boost, was made by Georgia on Thursday night.

While the Bulldogs' football team is a force to be reckoned with year in and year out, their men's basketball team is forgettable to say the least. The team finished 18-15 to finish out another mediocre season.

Coach Crean should have no problem getting the team in the right direction. A former Big Ten Coach of the Year, Crean led his Hoosiers to two Big 10 regular-season titles and a No. 1 seed in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

While he's spent the last year working for ESPN, Georgia hopes that he'll be able to shake off the rust fairly quickly and get the Bulldogs on the right track.
