Georgia basketball needs a rebuild, and they need to find the right man to lead it. The Bulldogs suffered through mediocrity for too long with Mark Fox, and eventually had no other option but to pull the plug.

Yes, Thad Matta may have turned down the Georgia head coaching job, but that doesn't mean a plan B is a bad option..

Tom Crean would be the perfect hire for the position. He's energetic and can rejuvenate the program as his close friend Dick Vitale indicated. Crean also has experience with a rebuild in Indiana.

Crean finished with a 166-135 record at Indiana despite the rebuild and somewhat sour-ending. Before Indiana, he spent nine wholesome years at Marquette also compiling an over-.500 record. Crean, who has spent the last year working at ESPN, would be a good spokesperson for a school that needs it.

Is there any reason not to do this?
