Could Ndamukong Suh, who was released from his massive contract by the Miami Dolphins, be headed to the Pacific Northwest?
After free agency kicked off with a bang earlier this week, with star players signing on with new teams, Suh is making the rounds, but has made it clear he's got interest in the Seahawks.
Suh told insider Jordan Schultz he had a "great phone conversation" with Seattle head coach Pete Carroll, and that there is interest between both sides.
Ndamukong Suh tells me he had a great phone conversation with Pete Carroll last night and that there is tangible interest between both parties. The #Seahawks are very excited about Suh -- who has a host of potential suitors -- given how dominant and disruptive he is.— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) March 15, 2018
The interest does make sense.
The Seahawks are going through a complete retooling, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. The team released Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane, and traded defensive end Michael Bennett. Not to mention Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril are questionable at best to play this upcoming season.
With these moves, the Seahawks have approximately $20 million in cap space, which is an ample amount of money to sway Suh away from his potential sutiors.
Only time will tell where Suh will ultimately sign, but we now know to keep an eye on the Seahawks, who have a glaring need on the defensive line.
