Wow, who saw this one coming?
We all knew that the Patriots were moving on from former Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler. After his mysterious benching in Super Bowl LII, the writing was on the wall that he would be leaving the team for greener pastures in free agency.
Now, it sounds like he has found that pasture.
Former Patriots' CB Malcolm Butler intends to sign with the Tennessee Titans, per sources. Butler will play for former Patriots' LB Mike Vrabel and former Pats' personnel man Jon Robinson.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 13, 2018
According to reports, the Tennessee Titans are swooping in and stealing Butler away from the Patriots (and his other suitors) and adding him to their stacked defense.
This comes as a pretty serious surprise, as the Titans weren't even listed as a top option when the initial reports of interested teams came out. Teams like the Saints, Texans, and Lions were once deemed the favorites before the Titans came in out of nowhere.
Considering the fact that Tennessee lost to New England in the playoffs last season, Butler will help this team on their revenge tour in 2018.
