The Browns need a starting quarterback. Desperately.

Old news? Nothing new?

Yeah, I completely get that, but until the front office makes a move to rid the franchise and city of extended suffering, it'll continue to be brought up.

This offseason, though, there are multiple targets Cleveland has its eyes on. While fans are hoping free agent Kirk Cousins arrives to save the day, it appears Hue Jackson has another player he wants to run his offense: A.J. McCarron.

Per SI's Peter King, Jackson wants the former Bengals backup to be QB1 for the Browns moving forward. This, of course, is not the first time Cleveland has targeted McCarron.

Last year, they actually made a deal with the Bengals to acquire the former Alabama star, but they popped the champagne and celebrated too early. Thanks to good old human error, things didn't get finalized in time to beat the trade

Will the second time be the charm for the Browns to bring in McCarron? This time, there's no trade deadline standing in their way.

It all comes down to signing him to the right deal. Get the job done, John Dorsey. Bringing in McCarron might help your team get at least one win next season.
