From NBA MVP to massive injury risk to unemployed, Derrick Rose has certainly been through a lot in his basketball career.
However, the 29-year-old point guard hasn't given up on his dreams just yet despite getting bought out by the Jazz weeks ago. And his patience might pay off, as the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly interested in signing D-Rose to help bolster their backcourt.
Source: I'm told the #Clippers are considering free agent point guard Derrick Rose, and that there isn't much progress on a deal with Tyrone Wallace at the moment.— Tomer Azarly (@TomerAzarly) February 28, 2018
After many believed Rose would reunite with Tom Thibodeau in Minnesota, the Timberwolves passed up on the chance to take the veteran free agent. Now, it appears the Clips might be his last, best shot at possible redemption.
With the Clippers currently fighting for the final seed in the Western Conference, bringing in Rose could provide a spark off the bench.
Even though L.A. desperately needs more depth, it doesn't sound like their fanbase would welcome Derrick Rose with open arms.
I'd rather play Sindarius Thornwell at point guard than 2018 Derrick Rose— Robert Flom (@RichHomieFlom) February 28, 2018
Whoa. Just this tweet alone shows how unfortunate the fall of Rose's career has really been.
Although the odds are stacked against him, we wish D-Rose well in his possible return to the hardwood.
