Jake Arrieta has received plenty of interest from teams this offseason, and yet, he's still sitting at home without a place to proffer his wares.

It would make a lot of sense for teams like the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers to step up and sign Arrieta to a long term deal, as both teams have playoff aspirations and lack a legit frontline starter in their rotation. However, neither team has come close to reaching an agreement. The Phillies want him, too, but are they ready to contend now? What about 2019? Still no?

Have no fear, Jake, because there's really only one team for you to sign with and that's the Washington Nationals, a squad that just so happens to be a legit World Series contender.

If the former Cy Young Award winner signed with Washington, it would give the Nationals one of the best rotations in the sport and strengthen their chances of not only winning a postseason series, but contending for an NL pennant and reaching the Fall Classic.

While I'm sure it'll still take a good chunk of money to land Arrieta, at the very least, the 31-year-old will be on a team with World Series aspirations. If you can't get all the money in the world, at least you can play for a very competitive team.

And let's be honest, Arrieta's agent Scott Boras and Nats ownership have an incredible working relationship that can make this happen very quickly. The bulk of Washington's payroll includes Boras clients, and you can bet he's in the ear of owner Ted Lerner every day so he can get his prized client signed.

It seems to be only a matter of time until Arrieta to the Nationals becomes official. After all, it's both the best and only option.
