Former Alabama quarterback Vince Sutton passed away on Thursday morning after dealing with a number of health issues in recent years, including kidney disease and a pair of strokes that led to partial blindness, according to 247sports

Sutton may have played for Alabama in the mid-80's but he continued to be a part of the Crimson Tide family. When Jalen Hurts entered his college career as a starting quarterback as a true freshman, he was the first quarterback to do so in 32 years. Vince Sutton was the last one.

Over four seasons, Sutton threw for over a thousand yards and ten touchdowns.

After his career in football, Sutton coached at Dawson Street Christian School in LaGrange, Georgia.

Our thoughts go out to his family and all of Crimson Tide country during this difficult time. RIP.
