When his career is over, Julius Peppers will go down as one of the best to ever play for the Carolina Panthers.

After putting up a fantastic season in 2017, which included 11 sacks, the 38 year old proved he can still compete at an elite level.

However, this latest report might change his retirement plans, as Peppers underwent shoulder surgery today.

With Thomas Davis already announcing 2018 as his final season, perhaps Julius Peppers will take a page out of his book.

Even though there should definitely be more talk about his possible retirement, Peppers wants to make it clear that he's fine.

It's hard for a player of his caliber to leave the NFL, especially because he's still chasing a Super Bowl ring.

Regardless of when his career ends, Julius Peppers will be a shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, as his 154.5 sacks rank fourth all-time.

Here's to him getting better!
