As if the year wasn't going poorly enough for UConn's men's basketball team.
They currently sit in the middle of the AAC standings with a 4-3 record (11-9 overall), and now UConn will reportedly be under NCAA investigation.
What they're being investigated for is still unknown, but according to a report it could be a recruiting issue.
Isn't it always a recruiting violation anyway?
The NCAA has opened up an investigation into the UConn men’s basketball program. https://t.co/FUKGHDZDfv— CBS Sports CBB (@CBSSportsCBB) January 26, 2018
For head coach Kevin Ollie, this investigation comes during a year where some of Huskies fans have been calling for his job anyway.
Ollie led UConn to a National Championship back in 2014, but since they've struggled, missing the tournament two out of the last three years. Some of Ollie's criticisms stem from his lack of ability to land a great recruit.
So, if he committed a recruiting violation, wouldn't that be ironic?
