At the University of North Carolina, fans expect nothing but the best from their basketball team. Unfortunately, that is not what they are seeing from the reigning national champs, and particularly from guard Cameron Johnson.

UNC has been shaky this season and Johnson has been inconsistent since coming back from knee surgery. He put himself right back at square one with his horrendous showing against an unranked Virginia Tech team.

The No. 10 Heels lost 80-69, with Johnson managing only three points and one assist in 26 minutes. Johnson saw a season high in points just a week ago at home against Clemson. However, with this poor performance against an unspectacular Hokies squad, Johnson may find himself back on the bench for some big upcoming matchups.

The Tar Heels square off against Pitt, Duke, NC State, and Notre Dame within a span of nine games, all of which are at home except for their meeting with NC State. Johnson plays much better on his home court, it will be interesting to see how much trust Roy Williams puts in the Pitt transfer for the high-end battles we will see in the coming weeks.
