The Washington Redskins are prepping for their future.
Unfortunately, the Redskins saw their 2017 season end in disappointment. With a lot of uncertainty staring at them this offseason, including the status of QB Kirk Cousins as he enters free agency, the team is looking to lock up as much as possible.
That includes their offense line. According to reports, the team has signed veteran guard Orlando Franklin to a futures deal.
The 30-year-old Franklin had an extremely promising career just a few seasons ago, but has bounced around teams ever since.
Franklin was selected in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Broncos, and spent four good seasons with the team before signing with the Chargers in 2015. He spent three seasons there before hitting the market again.
Franklin spent half of 2017 with the Saints before they cut him. Ultimately he ended up in Washington, and is now under contract for the time being as a Redskins. Solid signing.
