Former New England Patriots running back and LSU great Kevin Faulk is returning to his alma mater. According to reports, the Tigers are hiring Faulk as their new director of player development.

Faulk finished his career at LSU as the school's all-time leading rusher with 4,557 yards and 56 touchdowns, a record that still holds up today. He went on the play 13 seasons in the NFL, all with New England, and won three Super Bowls. He was also elected into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

Recently, Faulk has been coaching at his old high school, Carencro High in Louisiana. LSU is still working out the details of his contract due to the Individuals Associated With a Prospect (IAWP) rule.

He won't be involved in any off-campus recruiting efforts or coaching assignments, but Faulk will be deeply involved in cultivating talent in Baton Rouge.

It's nice to see a familiar face back at the place that helped make him great.
