5 Takeaways From the Pats Beatdown of the Tennessee Titans

Well, that was something. The New England Patriots just absolutely destroyed the Tennessee Titans at home in this one, sealing a trip to the AFC Championship game for the SEVENTH season in a row. Here's what you need to know.

5. The Titans Looked Completely Lost

After a strong start in the first quarter, the Titans absolutely fell apart, and never recovered from such a collapse. After going up 7-0, the team let up a ridiculous 35 unanswered points. They looked like a totally disorganized unit by the end of the game.

4. The Patriots Defense Deserves Some Credit

New England may have a great offense, but their defense has been the recipient of quite a bit of criticism this season. However, they've quietly been one of the best units in football in the past few weeks, and they proved it once again vs the Titans.

3. The Officiating Was Controversial, But it Didn't Matter

There were two incredibly controversial calls in the second quarter of this game that benefitted the Patriots, but by the end of this one it had absolutely no impact on the game. However, an AFC Championship matchup won't be so forgiving with such blatant officiating mistakes.

2. Rob Gronkowski is a Matchup Nightmare

Once again, Gronk absolutely demolished the opposing secondary with ease. He's the x-factor for this Patriots team, and when he's cooking, this whole New England offense is rolling with him. He's a nightmare matchup for whatever team faces the Pats next weekend, and will be a huge part of the game.

1. Tom Brady is Unbeatable at Home in the Postseason

18-3 at home in the postseason. His 13th postseason game with three or more touchdowns. Tom Brady is already incredibly hard to beat, but at home in the playoffs? It's almost impossible, and he proved it once again tonight against the Titans.
