Shortly after interviewing with the Oakland Raiders for multiple positions -- including head coach, apparently -- Tennessee Volunteers legend Tee Martin is working on an extension with USC, where he currently serves as offensive coordinator.

Martin is widely viewed as a rising star in coaching circles, and was bandied about as a fashionable choice to return to his alma mater at the height of their laughabledisastrous coaching search that ended with the hiring of Jeremy Pruitt.

A national champion in Knoxville and the direct successor to Peyton Manning, Martin got his first college coaching job in 2009 with New Mexico before rising through the ranks at Kentucky and USC. He's been running the offense for the Trojans since 2016.

The Trojans may have gotten scrapped by Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, but the cupboard isn't bare and the future is bright. And with Martin staying in the fold, fans in SoCal have one more reason to be happy.
