The Ohio State Buckeyes got their man.
The next great Ohio State safety is on his way to Columbus, and his name is Josh Proctor.
While Proctor initially committed to Ohio State seven months ago, there remained speculation that he would eventually sign with his in-state school, the Oklahoma Sooners. That never came to fruition.
Signed: Four-star safety Josh Proctor could make a big impact in Columbus after choosing the Buckeyes over his home-state Sooners. https://t.co/qvusaWAvNG— Eleven Warriors (@11W) December 20, 2017
Proctor is one of the best safety prospects in the country, and may very well earn his coveted fifth star at some point this season.
While Early Signing Period has many detractors, it does open up doors for player like Proctor who wish to get the process out of the way, rather than wait until February to ultimately put pen to paper.
Owasso's Josh Proctor said telling #Sooners coaches that he was sticking to Ohio State was difficult.— Eric Bailey (@EricBaileyTW) December 19, 2017
He said OU recruited him hard to the very end. He added last conversation with Oklahoma was Monday night, when he told HC Lincoln Riley of his final decision. pic.twitter.com/8IQWjEfhnP
We wish him nothing but the best in Columbus. O-H-I-O.
