The Cardinals have their middle of the order bat they've sorely been seeking.

After much anticipation, the St. Louis Cardinals have officially acquired outfielder Marcell Ozuna from the Miami Marlins.

According to Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com, the deal is done pending a physical.

Ozuna's also been informed of his own movement. As real as real can get.

And now, we just wait to see how the Marlins plundered St. Louis' loaded farm system. We know Sandy Alcantara, a star young starter, is headed to MIA, along with three supposed lesser pieces.

Well, not that much lesser. One of them is Magneuris Sierra, who had quite the run in St. Louis last summer.

Ozuna has two years of control left on his contract, which certainly warrants a nice haul of prospects. Once the Marlins dealt Stanton and didn't receive any top prospects, it was clear they were going to use Ozuna and Co. to bring in that much-needed young talent to augment their farm system.

Ozuna is entering the prime of his career and is coming off a career year where he hit .312 and belted 37 home runs and drove in 124 runs.

Huge acquisition.
