Dwight Freeney is one happy guy right now.

After being cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, it was announced today that Dwight Freeney was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Lions.

By the sound of his tweet, Freeney seemed very pleased reuniting with his former head coach.

After spending the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, Freeney has had short stints with the Chargers, Cardinals, Falcons, and the Seahawks.

From 2009-2011, Freeney played under Jim Caldwell, who was the head coach of the Colts at the time.

Despite eventually being cut, Freeney had three sacks in just four games for Seattle. There was some speculation that Freeney was going to hang up his cleats, since he has openly spoken about retirement for the past two years.

However, that will all have to wait, as the Lions are hoping that Freeney can carve out some youth in those 37 year-old legs, and help bolster their pass rush, as they prepare for a playoff push.

Reunited, and it feels so good!
