The two best returning players in the Big Ten are at the top of preseason awards lists once again.
Michigan State sophomore Miles Bridges and Wisconsin redshirt junior Ethan Happ are two of the eight Big Ten players on the initial watchlist for Naismith Men's College Player of the Year.
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the award, 50 players were named to the preseason watch list. The other Big Ten players on the list are Purdue's Vince Edwards, Maryland's Justin Jackson, Minnesota's Nate Mason, Northwestern's Bryant McIntosh, Michigan's Moritz Wagner and Michigan State's Nick Ward.
Bridges has been on just about every preseason All-America list you can think of, and is a strong pick for the Player of the Year award. Wisconsin's Happ, on the other hand, is not as hyped as Bridges, but is still one of the top talents in amateur basketball.
He led the Badgers in points, rebounds and assists per game last year, and will have every chance to do the same this season.
The two teams are set to face off on Feb. 18, when the Spartans travel to the Kohl Center in Madison.
Until then, let the debates begin!
