We're far from the dog days of the NBA regular season, but you wouldn't be able to tell from Marcin Gortat's defense on this Cavs lay-up attempt.

D-Rose took a trip in the way-way back machine, thinking he could take on the WIzards 1-on-3 in a fast break. While it initially didn't go his way, Rose was persistent, and Gortat let him off the hook.

The Wizards' reliable big-man could have easily stuck out an arm to alter Rose's shot, or at least fouled the veteran PG. Instead, he just sat back and let it happen.

I mean really, what was that?

The best part of this play is the reaction from the Wizards bench upon watching Gortat's obvious lack of effort in transition. And really, you can't blame them for being upset.
