Could the Redskins secondary get any thinner? Injuries have completely riddled the unit through five games, with Pro Bowl corner Josh Norman out for an extended period of time.

Starter Deshazor Everett also missed Sunday's game against the 49ers. Bashaud Breeland and Fobian Mareau were also shaken up during the teams 26-24 win.

So, this scheduled workout for a freshly-released Dallas Cowboys corner is out of necessity.

Carroll only played two games for the Boys before Jourdan Lewis outplayed the eighth-year veteran to take his spot.

Carroll is a big-bodied player, standing at 6-1 and 202 pounds, and Washington is looking for physicality after Norman went down.

The Redskins have yet to play the Cowboys in 2017 but get them Week 8 at home. There's a good chance he can provide some insight to their schemes, which would make this potential singing a bonus more than just a dire need.
