This season with young phenom Sean McVay, the Rams look they've finally figured it out with Jared Goff and the offense getting into a groove.

But the defensive talent has always been there, even in the Jeff Fisher era.

The last few years the Rams have had one of the scariest young defenses in all of the NFL. Most of that is due to the monstrosity of Aaron Donald, arguably the most disruptive player in the NFL, but the supporting cast is also deep on this roster, including the man who just got locked up long-term.

Linebacker Alec Ogletree has been on a tear since he came out of Georgia. While he may not have ever reached the insane hype he had coming out of college, Ogletree has been one of the most complete linebackers in recent years, earning him a spot on the Second-Team All-Pro squad in 2016.

With Ogletree locked up, the Rams can now turn their attention to Aaron Donald.

Donald is locked up until 2019, but his next re-up should make him the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.

Whatever the case, at least the Rams managed to keep one of their key defenders for the long haul.
