The Washington Nationals are on the brink of elimination, and in effort to spark the offense, which has scored a measly seven runs through three three games, manager Dusty Baker has unveiled a new-look lineup against Chicago Cubs starter Jake Arrieta.
The same eight position players are starting again today, but they'll be in different positions in the lineup. Take a look:
Jayson Werth has been moved to the No. 2 spot in the lineup, moving Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, Daniel Murphy and Anthony Rendon down in the order.
Rendon, in particular, has been shuffled down from third to sixth in the lineup.
There are only two players (Zimmerman and Taylor) in the Nationals lineup that are hitting above .200, and of the 11 total hits in the series, Harper, Zimmerman and Taylor account for seven of them.
Trea Turner remains in the leadoff spot despite going hitless in the series thus far. He only has two career at-bats against Arrieta (1-for-2 with a walk), but Turner is the key to Washington's offense. They need him to step up if they want to survive and force a Game 5.
