The Cubs lead the Nationals in the NLDS 2-1 and it is pretty amazing they do.

The Nats have gotten amazing pitching out of their two aces in Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg. In fact, the two have given up just one earned run and the Nationals have lost both of those games.

However, the difference has been the Cubs timely hitting late in games.

But for the Cubs to close out the series on Tuesday, they are going to need to score early.

Tanner Roark will be on the mound for the Nats and the Cubs can crush their hopes with a few early runs. The game is at Wrigley and a couple runs in the first few innings will get the crowd loud and give the Cubs all the momentum. That could lead the Nats to feeling defeated, especially after losing both games when Scherzer and Strasburg started.

Mark it down.  If the Cubs score early, they will be facing the Dodgers in the NLCS.
