Following their 3-2 victory over the Phillies on Sunday, the Nationals became the first team in baseball to clinch their division (and a playoff spot).

Washington's victory gave them a 20-game lead over the Marlins, which is enough to guarantee the team a spot in the postseason.

In order to clinch the division, the Nats needed to win and the Marlins needed to lose against the Braves.

The Braves managed to pull off the win, and part of the game was broadcasted on the Nationals' scoreboard. The fans were certainly excited when the Braves tied up the game.

The win on Sunday improves the Nats' record to 88-55, the second-best mark in the MLB.

While the team has clinched a spot in the postseason, there is still work to be done. The Dodgers and the Nationals will meet up in Washington for a three-game series, which could be highly impactful on the seeding for the postseason.
