Damian Lillard entered this offseason with a goal of cutting down some weight. And to do that, he decided to change his diet.
And boy is it a big change.
Dolla Dame is officially a vegan!
With this diet, Lillard is now weighing in at 190, which is nearly 10 pounds lighter then he was last year at the start of the season. Last season, Lillard averaged 27 points, 5.9 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game. He is hoping that this new diet will only help.
Lillard isn't the only NBA player to go vegan this summer. Sixers center Jahlil Okafor said he started a vegan diet this offseason and has claimed to have lost 20 pounds. Okafor has struggled so far in the NBA and is hoping this new diet will help him turn things around.
It will be interesting to see if this is a new trend that NBA players start doing. If Lillard, one of the top players in the game, thinks it will help him, then maybe others will start to give it a try.
