It was a perfect start to the season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Almost.

Kansas City went into Foxborough and shocked the world by soundly beating the Patriots on opening night, but it wasn't all wins for this teams.

The Chiefs believe Eric Berry tore his Achilles and could be done for the year.

Walking away with a win agains the defending champs is nice, but losing arguably your best defender definitely puts a bitter taste in your mouth.

Just by watching last night's game you could see how important Berry was to this defense. He had the responsibility of covering Gronk, completely taking one of the best weapons in football out of the game, and made huge plays stopping the run, including a crucial fourth down play that prevented the Patriots from keeping their drive alive deep in Chiefs territory early on.

Everyone feared the worst when Berry was carted off the field after a non-contact injury, but this won't be the last you see of the All-Pro safety. He's beaten cancer, and will surely fight through rehab to come back strong next year.

Let's just hope the Chiefs can stay afloat without him.
