Craig Carton, co-host of popular WFAN radio show “Boomer and Carton,” was clearly stumping for Mike Francesca's job, once the iconic host officially retired.

Instead of gaining that employment, he was arrested Wednesday morning. Close!

The Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Carton on corruption charges early Wednesday surrounding a fake ticket scam. Carton was arrested while at his home in Manhattan, NY.

According to reports, Carton allegedly got involved in an investment scam where he and one other party ran a fake discount ticket broker company. The entire scheme is said to have resulted in up to $2 million.

Carton was ultimately booked and charged with securities fraud and wire fraud. The other party has not been named.

Some people are happy to hear about Carton's arrest; after all, the opinionated host has certainly rubbed plenty the wrong way in his time.

Carton, a 48-year-old man who acts far younger, has been the co-host of Boomer and Carton since 2007. Boomer Esiason, the show's other co-host and former Bengals QB, didn't do a great job of addressing the trauma on air.

Boomer and Carton has been a simulcast on television since 2010, and aired...this very morning. However, the show has not addressed Carton’s arrest.

We are waiting to see what will happen to Carton and what further details will be released. Doesn't look good, though.

There could actually be potential jail time here.
