As football season gets under way, there is still some basketball news to pay attention to.

For West Virginia fans who saw their football team lose their first game, the news got even worse when they heard about a 3-star point guard Brandon Knapper.

Knapper played most of his high school ball in West Virginia. He was slated to help out in the Mountaineer backcourt, but now with this injury, the WVU needs to look elsewhere to full out their backcourt depth.

Meniscus injuries are not as serious as other knee injuries, but the surgery should keep Knapper out for some considerable time. He may be ready for the season to begin, but only if his rehab goes well.

Head coach Bob Huggins said that Knapper will work hard to get back on the court and should compete for some playing time if he comes back healthy.
