I wonder if the Detroit Tigers regret trading J.D. Martinez or not getting more in return for the slugger.

The soon-to-be free agent has been a power-hitting sensation ever since coming over to the Arizona Diamondbacks in a trade, and he has now surpassed his home run total through his first 57 games of the year.

He now has 18 in his last 40 games after crushing four dingers in a single night.

Believe it or not, that's the second game in which someone has hit four home runs this year. Reds infielder Scooter Gennett did so back in June.

But Martinez's performance made some pretty remarkable company:

This historic moment added insult to injury for the Dodgers, who lost the game 13-0 and dropped nine of their last 10, including four straight to the D-Backs.

Martinez really cemented his nickname on Labor Day: Just. Dingers.
