ESPN senior writer Mike Wise made up a quote that was supposedly from Nick Saban, and sent it out through twitter.

Wise has since deleted the tweet, and has been disciplined by ESPN. The specifics of his discipline have not been released, but for now Wise will be taking a break from Twitter.

Wise writes for the Undefeated, and has gotten himself into some trouble before. When he was with the Washington Post, Wise tweeted that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be suspended for five games. Roethlisberger was not suspended, but Wise was.

Now Wise finds himself back in trouble, but this time with his new company, ESPN.

ESPN released a statement about the situation. In the statement ESPN said, “The tweets were a clear violation of our journalistic standards. Mike has been disciplined. Putting imaginary words in the name of anyone we cover is unacceptable.”

The tweet from Wise with the made up quote has been deleted, but nothing on the internet is ever truly deleted.

Wise has now been caught making up quotes twice, and is being disciplined. Hopefully the discipline is harsh enough, so that he never gets himself into this situation again.
