Randal Grichuk seems to permanently have a smile painted on his face, and judging by this news, that appears to be for good reason.

If I was setting park records in my fourth season in the Majors, I'd likely have a big old smile too.

Grichuk now holds the Busch Stadium III record for the farthest home run hit by a Cardinals player since the park gates were opened back in 2006.

Grichuk's homer did not come in vain either.

It came in the bottom of the 6th in an inning that the Cardinals entered into down by a score of 4-2. The Cardinals were able to tie the game thanks to the play of Grichuk, but would really pour it on in the 7th scoring four runs to put the game out of reach.

The game ball still goes to Grichuk though. That homer was a legit bomb.

Grichuck's beginning to make a habit out of timely home runs. That's certainly not something St. Louis fans will be bothered too much by.

That's especially true if he's going to sport a big old smile the whole time. What's not to love?
