If you didn't know who Hunter Renfrow was before the national championship game, you definitely know who he is now.
After an electric game topped off by a Hunter Renfrow game-winning touchdown, the championship game hero will see his number called early and often in 2017.
With the departure of Mike Williams, the Tigers need someone to step up and replace his production.
That person needs to be Hunter Renfrow. All season long the wideout proved to be a consistent target for Deshaun Watson.
He recorded nearly 500 yards and six touchdowns in 2016. Replacing Williams will be a tall order, but Renfrow has proven to be one of the most consistent players on the Tigers offense.
It looks like Kelly Bryant will be the starter in 2017, he is going to need to rely on an experienced receiving corps led by Renfrow.
I am in no way saying that Hunter Renfrow needs to be the next Mike Williams, rather he will need to elevate his game to allow Clemson to replace Williams' production "by committee."
With several talented receivers like Ray Ray McCloud looking to make an impact on the Clemson offense, Renfrow will need to be the glue that holds the unit together.
I expect a mature and experienced Renfrow to lead the way for the unproven, yet capable Clemson group of receivers.
Their play may very well end up determining how far the Tigers go in 2017.
