Ed Orgeron and the LSU Tigers could be a dangerous force in the SEC next season, and they might be getting more help.
There's a long line of athletic basketball players becoming NFL-caliber tight ends, and the latest star might be in Baton Rouge. LSU hoops forward Brian Bridgewater apparently wants to try his hand on the gridiron.
“That’s a possibility, if things go according to how they’re supposed to,” Bridgewater said. “Hopefully that’s an option. If not I’ll have to see what door opens for me.”
Bridgewater has experience playing football as well, as he was a 3-star tight end before signing to play basketball at LSU.
Bridgewater has all the makings of a successful college tight end, at the least. His measurements all line up, and he even trained with former Baylor basketball star and current Dallas Cowboy tight end Rico Gathers last summer. Gathers is on the Cowboys practice squad and seen as a developmental project.
There's no word if there's mutual interest between the football team and Bridgewater, but it would be surprising for Orgeron to turn down the opportunity to bring on a potential game-breaking target.
