Unlucky is an understatement when describing Junior Galette's health over the last two years.
The Redskins defensive end suffered two achilles injuries in consecutive offseason, causing him to miss the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
The good news is Galette appears to be healing up nicely as he announced on Instagram that he'll be finalizing a contract to re-sign with Washington on Wednesday.
The caption read: "5 years of my Prime Left I Promise to give it everything I have...Thankful to be signing another Contract W/ The @redskins Tomorrow #Blessed"
Not only will the 28-year-old be back in burgundy and gold next season, but he claims he has another five years left in his prime. Over his first five seasons, Galette accrued 31.5 sacks and 88 tackles.
If Galette can match that production for the next half decade, then this is a great signing for the Redskins, depending largely of course on the money Washington is giving the defensive end.
Best of luck to Galette in is career reboot!
