Things should be tense in the Pittsburgh locker room right now. The Steelers are just a few days away from taking on the Patriots in the AFC Championship game. There's a bad bug going around getting people sick. People should be on their toes.
However, it seems like the atmosphere is quite the opposite, as the team continues to carry on it's loose persona, even in their biggest week. This could clearly be seen as star running back Le'Veon Bell missed practice earlier this week and no one batted an eye.
Surprised nobody has batted an eye re Le’Veon Bell being excused from Thurs practice for “personal reasons.” Would assume it’s v important.— David Todd (@DavidMTodd) January 20, 2017
Usually if Bell were to miss practice, especially with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, there would be an immediate explanation from him or the team. However, this wasn't the case this week, leading many to ask questions as to what could have happened.
Luckily, it looks like we now know why he missed practice and it's about as good a reason as you could possibly have.
Wasn’t aware until this morning that Le’Veon Bell became a father this week. Damn good reason to miss practice. And missed the flu bug.— David Todd (@DavidMTodd) January 20, 2017
Le'Veon had a "Little Juice"!
According to reports, Bell missed practice because his girlfriend gave birth to Bell's first child this week. And being the good guy that he is, he wanted to be there to see his newest family member come into the world.
today has been a blessing— Le'Veon Bell (@L_Bell26) January 20, 2017
A new addition to the Bell family AND he didn't get exposed to that bug going around the locker room? Sounds like a good week to me.
