LeBron James is one of the most beloved/hated players in the NBA, but there's no denying his greatness. One of the league's greatest players of all time, James has never been short on words. Here are some of his best trash talking moments.
6. Merry Christmas, Kobe
The James-Kobe Bryant rivalry wasn't put aside during a Christmas Day showdown between the two stars. With the Miami Heat holding a commanding lead over the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant tried to keep his team in the game late in the fourth, but was called for an offensive foul. James went over to help teammate James Jones up after drawing the charge and started clapping while standing over Bryant. James and Bryant began jawing at each other on their way down the other end of the floor, with James saying, "It's just basketball. That's all."
5. LeBron Throws Some Shade at Steph Curry
During the Cavaliers' championship parade, James let the fans know that he wasn't buying the fact that Warriors guard Steph Curry was coming off back-to-back MVPs. When James started talking about "The Stop," where Kevin Love shut down Curry on one of the final possessions during Game 7, James reminded everyone of Curry's hardware. "That was on the 2-time MVP, by the way. That was on the 2-time MVP, we got that stop."
4. LeBron Reminds Heat Fans Who The King is
Sometimes, you don't even have to speak to trash talk. That was the case when LeBron returned to Miami with his Cleveland Cavaliers, but was given the night off by head coach David Blatt. With Heat fans chanting "LeBron is tired," James quietly clapped back, holding up his hand and twirling around the two rings that he led the Heat to during his time in Miami.
3. James Denies Evan Turner at the Rim, Adds "You Tried!"
With the Celtics down by six with just over a minute left to play, Evan Turner drove the lane looking to throw down a big dunk, but James flashed from the weak side and stuffed Turner at the rim with his left hand. James gave Turner an A for effort, while yelling "You tried. I blocked it."
2. The King Blocks the MVP in Game 7
During Game 7 of last year's NBA Finals, James sent a Steph Curry layup into the stands and let the MVP know about it. James stared down Curry after the block, then Curry walked into James while talking back. The two were separated but continued to jaw back and forth.
1. LeBron Blocks Steph Curry in Game 6
With the Cavaliers down 3-2 in the NBA Finals, James and the Cavaliers were doing their best to hold a double-digit fourth quarter lead. Curry took James off the dribble from the top of the key as James tracked him down the lane. After trying to get James to bite on a pump fake, Curry went up with his left hand and James swatted the ball out of bounds. In one of the most memorable moments of the Finals, James turned over his shoulder with a sly look and threw some trash talk Curry's way.
