2019 College Football Playoff Projections Following Conference Championship Weekend

Here we go! It's finally time to name 2019's final four in college football after an exciting regular season and a Saturday full of heavyweight clashes in the nation's many conference championships. Now that the dust has settled, picking the top four is actually about as easy as it could possibly have been -- so, without further delay, let's reveal the lucky teams moving on to play for national title glory, as well as the first two that missed the cut.

6. Florida Gators

Among two-loss teams that didn't win a Power 5 conference title, Florida definitely did not have the best season overall, as that honor clearly belongs to Alabama. But taking into account Tua Tagovailoa's injury, the Gators -- who lost only to LSU and Georgia -- check in at No. 6 simply because they're still standing, moving up from No. 9.

5. Oregon Ducks

Quack! The Ducks hung around all year and never fell off the map, and enter bowl season as the nation's best two-loss team after stomping Utah for the Pac-12 title. They won't be on anyone's list to make the Playoff, but Mario Cristobal is cooking three years into his tenure in Eugene.

4. Oklahoma Sooners

Another meeting with Baylor, another taut, exciting victory for Jalen Hurts and the Sooners. The Big 12 champs are the best one-loss team around, and rightly deserve the No. 4 spot in the final CFP rankings after coming from behind to snag yet another conference title under Lincoln Riley.

3. Clemson Tigers

Why is nobody talking about Clemson? They're the undefeated defending national champs. Sheesh, people.

2. Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State has a case to make for being No. 1, but they fell two scores behind Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game and needed a huge second half to overcome it. They have a wonderful chance to win it all, but they'll settle for No. 2.

LSU is the best team in college football. The are undefeated. They are champions of the best conference. They have the best player. It won't necessarily be a shock if they don't finish the season at the top of the mountain, but if you're a Bayou Bengals fan, you should be furious if they don't.
