Russell Westbrook dejó un emotivo mensaje en Instagram para los fanáticos del Thunder

El base Russell Westbrook contará con un nuevo casillero a partir de la próxima campaña, una vez que tomó la decisión de solicitar cambio a la oficina de Oklahoma City Thunder, una franquicia a la que entregó su lealtad hasta más no poder y sintió el más profundo amor por sus fanáticos.

Notablemente emocionado y pese a lo fría que a veces puede ser la tecnología; el base estrella confesó sus nervios al escribir su agradecimiento a la ciudad que llegó cuando tenía 18 años. "Ni siquiera puedo expresar en palabras todas las emociones que tengo ahora", escribió.

I can’t even begin to put into words all of the emotions I have right now. It’s been one heck of a journey Oklahoma! When I came here, I was 18 years old, bright eyed, and completely unaware of all the amazing things that would soon take place. I grew up in Oklahoma with an amazing bunch of people. The people here are what makes this place so special. From the fans, my coaches, my teammates, the entire Thunder organization, Mr. Bennett, Sam Presti, my friends, and everyone in the entire community. You are all what makes Oklahoma such a beautiful place, and the reason I’ve loved playing here all of this time. You have supported me through all of the ups and the downs, and stood by me through the good times, and tough times. For that I am eternally grateful to you. I’ve met so many amazing people who have helped shape me into the man that I am today. I hope I have impacted the Oklahoma community as much as Oklahoma has made an impact on me and my family. I’m leaving Oklahoma with so many friends and so much gratitude. I could never thank you all enough for sticking with me. It’s been a dream and a whirlwind. #WHYNOT

Destacó el ambiente que vivió mientras imprimió todo su esfuerzo en cada noche tratando de llevar al Thunder a lo más alto de la liga. "Crecí en Oklahoma con un increíble grupo de personas. La gente de aquí es lo que hace que este lugar sea tan especial".

Por supuesto y más allá de los formalismo cliché de los jugadores, el base dijo que nada de lo que logró en la cancha pudo haber sido posible sin "los fanáticos, mis entrenadores, mis compañeros, la organización, el Sr. Bennett, Sam Presti, mis amigos y todos en la comunidad".

Por último, Russell destacó en su post que se marcha de "Oklahoma con tantos amigos y mucha gratitud. Nunca podría agradecerles lo suficiente por seguir conmigo. Ha sido un sueño y un torbellino".

Ojalá y cuando regrese vestido de rocket se mantenga el mismo amor entre ambas partes. En este caso no cabe el rencor.
