Georgia Southern's Bizarre Offensive Formation is Why College Football is the Best

To whichever offensive coach came up with this Georgia Southern formation, thank you for making college football fun again. It's not every day you see not two, but three offensive skill players stacked up together in the backfield in some sort of super-duper-old-school pistol formation.

You know, for all the hate college football gets for its atrocious referees and unbalanced matchups, these types of plays are what make it interesting to watch a seemingly irrelevant team like Georgia Southern take on South Alabama.

Unfortunately, it seems as if these odd formations aren't helping out Georgia Southern's offense at all.

You literally never know what sort of wacky yet innovative offensive formations you'll be able to bear witness to. Very rarely do you see such an odd offensive formation in the NFL, although it's happened before.

There's definitely more you can get away with in college football, for obvious reasons: These players are still amateurs and are far from professionals, although California has something to say about that.
