WHAT THE HECK IS GOING IN SEATTLE?
If cryptic social media posts surrounding Richard Sherman's future wasn't enough, the Seahawks have decided to break the internet with this stunning decision.
Out of nowhere, the Seahawks have sent Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for wide receiver Marcus Johnson and a fifth-round pick. HOW?!
Here it goes: Seahawks are trading DE Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to Eagles for a fifth-round pick and WR Marcus Johnson, sources tell ESPN.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 7, 2018
While the writing was on the wall for Bennett's future in Seattle, it's still insane to see them ship out the three-time Pro Bowler for this price.
For the Eagles, the rich get richer clearly, as they'll now have arguably the most fearsome defensive line in all of football.
Here’s the Eagles’ new third-down pass rush: Michael Bennett and Fletcher Cox on the inside, Derek Barnett and Brandon Graham on the outside.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 7, 2018
At 32 years old, Bennett still has the ability to get after the opposing quarterback, registering 8.5 sacks in 2017.
It'll be hard for quarterbacks in the NFC East to sleep at night because of all the talent on this Philly defense.
With the Eagles building a dynasty, the Seahawks are watch the demise of their roster as Bennett, Sherman, and possibly Kam Chancellor could all be in different uniforms next season.
Once again, Howie Roseman strikes gold for the Eagles.
