First, Kirk Cousins was expected to sign with the Denver Broncos. Next, it looked like joining the New York Jets was a lock given their comfy salary cap situation.
Now, according to a series of reports, Cousins has already made up his mind to sign with the Minnesota Vikings once free agency officially begins.
Multiple media reports from Denver and New York saying that Kirk Cousins has already chosen the Vikings. Let's hope it's true.— Paul Charchian (@PaulCharchian) March 5, 2018
The Vikings emerged as the favorites to land Cousins after they reportedly opted not to place the franchise tag on Case Keenum despite watching him emerge as an unlikely hero and lead the team to the NFC Championship Game last season.
With Keenum, Sam Bradford, and Teddy Bridgewater all imminently free agents, the Vikings clearly are in the market for a long-term solution behind center. And Cousins is the very best option set to hit the market.

For Cousins, his decision is expected to come down to the Jets and Vikings. Gang Green will be able to offer him the most money, but the Vikings can still offer him a smashing payday and Super Bowl expectations to match. It's not hard to figure why Minnesota would emerge as the strongest choice.
When Cousins does finally make his decision, we'll find out a lot about him. Is he all about the money, or does winning come first? Right now, it looks like all signs point in the direction of Cousins wearing purple and gold in 2018.
