Remember how boring MLB free agency was for a little while?
Well, things sure have started heating up over the past few days. As we all know, J.D. Martinez stole all the headlines today after signing with the Boston Red Sox.
But before that move, Eric Hosmer had already agree to terms with the Padres. On Monday night, San Diego decided to make things official, welcoming their new star home.
The man sure looks good in his new colors.
Make no mistake about it, Hosmer is a star in this league and there's a reason teams from both coasts were fighting over to land his services. There's also a reason why SD gave him an eight-year contract.
Hosmer is just 28, coming off a brilliant year. He hit .318 last season with 25 homers and 94 RBI.

It's never too early to start dreaming, Padres fans. Better days are on the way.
